EXTENDED ACCESS

Appointments outside of normal hours are now available for patients. This includes weekday evenings (6.30pm-8pm), Saturdays (8am - 8pm) and Sundays (10am - 2pm).

To access this service and book an appointment, please call the practice.

Translation Services

The move to remote consultation and use of PPE in face-to-face consultations requires additional considerations. For example, the impact of PPE on lip reading.

The GOV.UK website provides advice for the public and is translated into multiple languages. The Doctors of the World has translated relevant NHS guidance into 60 languages. Communication tips and BSL interpreters are available for supporting people with hearing loss to access general practice services

Away from home?

If you're away from home and need to see a GP, you can contact any GP surgery nearby.

You can receive emergency treatment from a GP surgery for up to 14 days – for example, if you fall ill while on holiday. If your treatment will last longer than that, you'll have to register as a temporary or permanent resident.

You can register as a temporary resident if you're in the area for longer than 24 hours but less than 3 months. If you'll be in the area for longer than 3 months, you'll have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

ONLINE CONSULTATIONS

Tell us about your problem and request medical advice and we'll respond promptly within on-line consultation hours. Simply click the links to register.

Patients can now consult online with a Clinician at our practice as part of a new online service which could save you time and a journey.

Using the online consultation service makes it easier for us to quickly decide how we can best help you with the least amount of disruption to your day. The service is free and confidential and medical consultations are always reviewed by a GP or Nurse Practitioner.

If your matter is urgent and outside working hours (Monday - Friday 8 am - 6:30 pm) please contact 111. If severe, please consider attending A&E or calling 999.

This service is only available to patients registered with Winterton Medical Practice. You do not need any login details. We aim to review all routine queries that are submitted before 3:30 pm on the same working day, however we may not contact you the same day. Clinically urgent queries will be prioritised.

Use our online consultation service by clicking the button below.

If you register to use the system then you won’t have to enter your personal details every time you send us a consultation.

Home Visits

Most medical problems can be dealt with at the surgery, and patients are generally encouraged to attend the practice for a consultation with their doctor, if at all possible.

However, we fully understand that some conditions or circumstances make surgery attendance impossible. In such cases we would ask that you phone the surgery before 10am.
